I just moved from California to Arizona and I’ve been having frequent seizures I’m not stressed , it’s the hot wind, pavement, also it’s hard to make friends I’ve become more introverted
Yes, heat does cause seizures to increase. Many anti seizure medications require patients to stay out of the heat for a long time. I have suffered 1st and 2nd degree burn while taking anti seizure medications and being in the heat. I am a published author of An Education In Epilepsy In My Own Words. I discuss many obstacles and myths regarding epilepsy.

Heat triggers my seizures bad I’ve been hospitalized twice so far and I have no choice but to get on disability because I can’t overwork myself then I will get tired and restlessness triggers it also

I can imagine that’s a big adjustment from California to Arizona. Especially now in the middle of summer! I hope as the weather cools, your seizures become less frequent and you’re also able to get out a bit more💚. Our community is always here to support you. Sending well wishes, Julie (team member)
