Changing medication
Hi I have recently changed medication from tegretol to lamotrigine. I have been on tegretol for 20 years. I have been fine for the 17 weeks of coming off the tegretol to reaching the correct dose of lamotrigine, but this past week or so I’m experiencing numbness in my leg and hand throughout the night mostly. I have read that it could be down to withdrawal symptoms of not taking tegretol anymore but just wondering if anyone has experienced something like this??

that is a great question and I hope our community members will respond with their experiences with this. Have you had a chance to mention this to your doctor, I would be curious to know what they think? Have you had numbness before the change of medication? Jill (Team Member) I have yes in the past but not as bad as it has been the last 2 weeks. I am waiting to hear back from an epilepsy nurse at the hospital to give me some advice.
