coping with losing a seizure streak

Hi i’m Kim

I lost 2 years without a seizure last night, i had a nocturnal seizure which I haven’t had in years. (I deal with absence, frontal focal, and nocturnal seizures.

I don’t really know how to cope with this. I’m upset that I’m back to square one after not having a big one in around 2 years

I’m exhausted, i’m fatigued and I feel in a sense that i’ve failed myself which I know that isn’t the case and I can’t help it but I feel so useless.

  1. Hi Kim, I am really sorry to hear this. I am so glad you have our community and that you reached out for support. Do you know what may have triggered your seizure? Have you had a change in medication? You have not failed yourself. Epilepsy is unpredictable, but it doesn't mean you are back to square one. I wanted to share this story from one of our members who has gone through what you have just been through. I hope this helps to show how she has coped: https://epilepsydisease.com/living/years-between-seizures. Please keep us posted on how you are feeling. Wishing you all the best. Jill (Team Member)
