My Epilepsy Story - Custody of My Children
As I am coming up on the last set of testing they are requesting before needing to try to help me find out if we have even just a small chance of being seizure free. December 21, 2023, changed my life in ways that I could never imagine, nor would I ever wish this life on anyone (not even my worst enemy).
I have learned that God has put this struggle in my life for some reason. I lost my two biological sons 5 years after a battle without seeing it of PPD, which in turn made my husband lose custody of his biological son. It took months to get him to even have visitation again and it had to be supervised. December of 2023, we won supervised visitation the day I had my first seizure.
Two tubes, multiple saves by my local paramedics, multiple saves by my husband, and multiple saves by my doctors and the hospital has made me, well me. About 10 days ago, my husband and I finally won sole physical and legal custody of his son that I made him lose all those years ago.
So now knowing that the people that have custody of my children can no longer use the excuse that I am an unfit parent can finally go away. If one states deems me safe, I'm pretty sure the other state is going to as well.
