Seizures

Hello community! My name is Goeffrey. I am 35 and I live in Uganda. I had my first seizure when I was 26 and I couldn't tell how it came about and why. My first seizure happened in 2013 but since then I have not been on medication, but I have had l like 15 seizures in the last 10 years, but I last had one Sunday evening and now I had to go to hospital and when I talked to the doctor, he just gave me medication.and I started medication on Tuesday and I was given phenytoin. Does anyone else share a similar experience?

That is me

  1. Hey, Goeffrey! 👋 Derra Howard here, and wow, I appreciate you opening up and sharing your journey with us. It takes courage to talk about these experiences. Seizures can be unpredictable right? I started my epilepsy journey at 9, diagnosed at 10. I'm now 38.

First off, big shoutout for taking that step to the hospital – getting the right help is crucial. Were you able to get a neurologist? Now, diving into the meds world, phenytoin is a common player in the epilepsy game. So, how's the phenytoin treating you so far? Any side effects, or are you feeling normal?

Living with epilepsy can be like a rollercoaster at times. You never really know the twists and turns, but having a community to share the journey can make all the difference. Rally your people and we are here for the journey as well.

    Happy Monday!
