More than epilepsy

My 33 year old daughter Deb was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis in 1990. She presented with infantile spasms at 7 months of age. Despite many meds and ketogenic diet she still continues to have 2-3 grand mal seizures a month. Because of the early onset of seizures she is severely mentally challenged but she is also so much more.
Her humor, her intelligence, her courage, her gentleness always serve to remind me of that Epilepsy is just a part of what we must deal with. My prayer is a cure for all.
My sweetheart

  1. Thank you for sharing! She truly seems like a light and doesn't let her disabilities (epilepsy) stop her. Tell her to keep shining!
