Cognitive ability

I have had seizures for approximately 50 years now. I also have severe memory loss. I don't remember anything long term or recent memory. In fact, I rely on family stories and pictures to 'remember' things. Does anyone else have this problem and is it related to seizures? Please share your experiences and thoughts. 🤔

  1. Hi Sophia. I am Cathy and I have had Temporal Lobe epilepsy for over 4 years after having a seizure in bed one night. My memory is not good. I forget places I have been, people I have met and conversations I have had. I heave learned to cope with it to a certain degree but it causes me anxiety. I even get nervous when visiting friends as I am worried they are going to ask me things I cant remember. I think we just have to learn to live with it the best way we can....but its not easy. You take care.

    1. thank you so much for sharing with the community. Memory loss and epilepsy is indeed a commonly seen correlation. I have found these articles that you may find helpful:
