Mental health

I have been suffering from right temporal lobe seizures since the age of 7yr. Does anyone know if there are any long term effects of taking anti-seizure meds. I have worked full-time my entire life, but I feel like the older I get the more foggier my mind gets and the more tired I am. I currently take 2600mg of anti-seizure meds a day. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Hi there!

Firstly, congratulations on working full-time! There are long-term side effects for all of the anti-seizure medications. All the medications have different long-term side effects. I suggest looking up your medication and the long-term side effects. However, you may not experience any of them. You can also reach out to your provider to find out about the long-term side effect and what you may experience.

Here is an article that may help.
