Living with seizures

I've had seizures since I was 5 days old. When I was 28 I had brain surgery. I was seizure free and able to wein off my medicine. When I found out that I was 7 months pregnant with my son in 1996 I was put back on medicine. I've been on medication ever since. Recently I had some tests in the hospital and they found that I was having seizures ounce again. This is a picture when I was in the hospital and I was visited by this dog.

  1. I'm doing alright but I spend too much time in the house with nothing to do. So you could say that I'm depressed.

    1. Hi there! It is amazing that you were able to be taken off your medication! What made them put you on the medication during your pregnancy? I've never been pregnant and I honestly wouldn't know what to expect. I know I'd need a game plan. Did you have an easy pregnancy?

Did you ask your neurologist about upping your dosage? I am in no way a doctor. But I find myself going through the motions with my medication. I've been on it for over 20 years and my body is used to it. The neurologist I had a few years ago uped my dosage by one pill and it worked for a little while. Definitely consult with your doctor on how to move forward to get your seizures under control.

          1. Hi there! I can completely relate to you. I had a seizure and fell down the stairs at my apartment complex. I ended up breaking my foot (still healing). I'm so sorry you were in a coma and have brain damage from that fall. You have such a courageous story to tell!! Are you on any medications since the last brain surgery?

A lot of times people don't understand epilepsy and that's okay. Some friends are for a season and others will go on this journey called life with you.
