Epilepsy after measles

Hi,

Has anyone got epilepsy due to having had measles?
Nowadays, I realize one can get vaccinated for this condition so it is rare to get it badly as what happened to me in 1952, when there was very little knowledge about encephalitis which was caused me to start getting seizures 4 years after being effected with measles.

Thank you community,

    1. Hi , it sounds like you’re having some trouble accessing the link to the article Kailah shared. It’s not on Facebook, so that shouldn’t be an issue. Are you able to highlight, then copy and paste the link into your browser? I’m sharing the link again below just in case this time it will work for you. Please let us know if you’re still having any trouble! -Julie (team member)

  2. that's a great question! I found this external resource from Harvard Health that discusses the implications of measles, one being epilepsy. If you'd like to read more you can do so here: (https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/measles-the-forgotten-killer-2019052316683#:~:text=Survivors%20of%20measles%20encephalitis%20and,During%20pregnancy%2C%20it%20causes%20miscarriages.)
I hope that helps! Wishing you all the best. Warmly, Kailah(Epilepsy Team Member)
