Epileptic episode in my 70’s

In September 2021 I had an epileptic episode after receiving an infusion for Covid 19. I had no idea what was wrong except was allergic reaction. In January 2022 I had another seizure. Seen a Nuerologist and disagreed with his diagnosis. In denial I guess. Had another in October and a week later a TIA. I didn’t know you could get epilepsy at 77. I am extremely concerned about this as I am a very healthy for my age. I was still riding horses, traveling, a caretaker for my husband who had pancreatic cancer. I’m still in shock. More test coming soon. It just wasn’t supposed to happen to me.

  1. Hi there! I am sure this was a hard diagnosis for you. Sending my virtual support. I can honestly say covid can bring about several things. It's called covid brain or post covid brain (I think). I had covid this past summer and it took me weeks to fully recover. I was very foggy and my memory was not that great during this time (along with epilepsy).

You may have to adjust certain activities or converse with your Neurologist before doing a few activities until you get your seizures under control. I love to go swimming, but if my seizures are active I try to avoid the pool. Honestly, it's all about paying attention to your body and how you are truly feeling. If you are tired, rest. If you feel good, that's a good day.
Have you been able to find a doctor to stabilize your seizures?
