My son having bad side effects on his meds.

I have a 26 year old son who is on to 250 mg Xcopri, 100 mg Vimpat, and 10 mg Lexapro. The side effects are very tired, memory loss, blurred vision. anxiety and depression . We’ve tried numerous medications for almost two years. similar side effects. planning to get in the hospital EEG,To locate and find what type of seizure he has. anybody had any luck in finding the right medication‘s ,or solutions to their problem after this procedure?

  1. My son just finished a week in the hospital for EEG. he had several seizures located right side. he currently is on 250 MG Xcopri -and 5 mg clobazam and then side effects seem to be memory loss ,tiredness and sometimes blurry vision. We are trying to stick with medication‘s that he only hast to take once daily due to mixing them up,or forgetting to take them on time, even with Pill organizer.

    1. thank you for the update. I am assuming he is home now based on your post. I can understand why you would want him only on medication that he has to take. Do you know what the next steps are with his doctor? Thinking of your family. Jill (Team Member)

  2. Hi, I’ve had several EEGs now myself. I am 43 now & just randomly started having seizures in 2019. My tests proved that I have focal onset seizures in my left temporal lobe. I have seen many neurologist & have tried several different milligrams & combinations of medications…so far none have really worked. I am currently on Xcopri 100mg (currently working up to 200mg), 100mg of Briviact, & 50mg Zoloft. I have about the same side effects also. My memory loss has gotten better though. I currently have seizures about twice a month & nothing is making that much better.
I really hope your son finds a medication that DOES work for him!!
