Lifestyle changes

Have you made any lifestyle changes to manage your epilepsy? If so, what changes have you made?

  1. Stopping my career had a profound effect on me. At the same time, my seizures reduced significantly. All that education and experience, the seizures took my driver's license and my memory. Devastating with the short term loss, I am taken back and disbelief is mine

  2. I carpool more often. I eat a modified Atkins diet. I walk at least 25 miles a week. I wear a FitBit to monitor my sleep to be sure I'm getting enough because epilepsy has caused me to be an insomniac, and I take naps when necessary. Stress is my trigger, so I am selective about what I do and with whom I do it. I say no to things more often to maintain my peace.

    1. thank you for sharing! It can be challenging to make some of these changes, but it seems like you’ve really identified what’s most helpful for you💙. Wishing you good sleep and a wonderful rest of your week. -Julie (team member)
